 Still waiting to see if I will get a visa for Tibet.  Have been told that I am no the only one that is waiting and been refused.  Have mad application a second and third time and now waiting for the results of the third application.  If I do not receive it will go trekking in the mountains for 7 days prior to my going to Bhutan.

The Hotel Ganesh Himal  is a very nice place to stay, not only are the staff very friendly but are happy to help you with any problems that you may have. The hotel restaurant  serves very good food and the prices are very reasonable.  Would recommend this budget hotel any time over some of the more high class over priced hotels in Kathmandu. 
In the afternoon I have gone to the zoo, the Monkey temple and the Garden of Dreams.
The Monkey temple is both Hindu and Buddhist and is very interesting to explore.  The Zoo is in the process of renovation and most of the animals are not there at present. But did have a walk around and it will take quite a lot of renovating to bring it up to standards, but hey have hired and are training people in other zoos world wide to improve the zoo.

The Garden of Dreams is a very tranquil walled area in the middle of a bustling city. It is a formal garden with fountains, pools and flowers.  Just a wonderful place to spend several hours just relaxing and having a cup of tea.
