Have decided to see some of my own country, so as I have always wanted to go to the Arctic will be driving to Inuvuk.
Starting tomorrow will drive from Prince George west on highway 97 to Kitwanga and will then take highway 37 north.
That being said will be camping and sleeping in my car for most of the trip . Have purchased a small propane stove and will be able to cook most of my meals along the way.
Will be posting some photos of the towns and interesting sites along the way nightly .

Have gone for a final walk about in Darwin, a really lovely place to visit. Off to Sydney today and will stay overnight and then have a 9 hour flight to Hong Kong with a 2 hour stop over and then 11 hour flight to Vancouver. When I arrive in Vancouver will take a bus or taxi to the BC Ferries terminal and take the ferry over to Vancouver Island. Will visit with my brother and other family members before I return to Prince George. Does not seem like I have been away for a few days short of 5 months. Guess time flies when you are having a good time, must admit that I have had a absolutely amazing trip and there are some place that I would return to anytime. Now just have to save up for my next trip where ever that may take me.

Arrived in the downtown area of Darwin and checked into my hotel for the next three days. Have arranged to take a sunset dinner cruise on the harbor on Wednesday and this afternoon will just have a walk about to see what is in the area.

Finally found someone at the train station who could get the charges for the Ghan trip straightened out. Now will get all my laundry done at the hotel guest laundry and then head out to see the sites
June 7, 2012.
Was out this morning walking about the City of Darwin - 120 thousand people. Darwin is the youngest state capital, only because it has been rebuild twice, once after the bombing in the 2nd WW when there were more bombs dropped on Darwin than in Hawaii and again in 1976 when Cyclone Tracey destroyed 80 % of the city. There is a wide esplanade that runs along the waterfront and is a great place to walk. Was going to go to the war museum this afternoon, but have misplaces my camera and have to back track and see if I can find it, but after a couple hours of futile search I realized that the last tie I had it was when I was making inquires at the hotel desk as it was on the counter and I think that the people that were checking out may have picked it up by mistake with their things, but regardless I have lost my camera.
In the evening I have gone to the Mindle Beach Market, a adventure for the taste buds as there is food here from all parts of the world as well as vendors who are selling all sort of merchandise. Spent a couple of hours just walking around then took the bus back to the bus depot that is near where I am staying. Forgot to take my other camera so no photos of the market or the great sun set this evening.
