Leaving Yellow water and driving to Jabiru and stopping at Nourlangie on the way there, some of the areas are closed due to water and so have not been able to visit. At Nourlangie you take a 1.5KM circuit walk through a wet season home for generations of aboriginal people. You can see how the local aboriginal people lived here and also the rock art. The Anbangbang Billabong in the area was not accessible due to water. From Jabiru there is not many places to visit again due to water that has not receded form the walks in the bush as the crocodile hazard , being that I am quite fond of my body parts have not tried to access any of the restricted areas. Have read in the newspaper an article in which some of the local people are complaining that they can not get into places like One Hole Billabong due to the roads being closed and the feel that they should be able to but the parks people are saying that they are still not safe for travel and that tourist safety is more important than them being inconvenienced.
So have drive through to Humpty Doo and will stay the night at the Humpty Doo Hotel in the cabins. Had a great time in the evening at the Pub, live music and a great dinner, being Sunday they close at 10PM, which is great for me as it will be quite as the cabin in close to the Pub.
