Left Mataranka early heading for Katherine and the Katherine gorge. Visited the Cutta Cutta Caves just 27 Km south of Katherine, it features limestone formations of stalactites and stalagmites.You do not have to do a tour to visit the gorge, you can drive up and take a walk, did the loop which is 3.7KM and is mostly easy walking with a bit of slightly steep climbing but the trail is marked and easy to follow, the gorge is quite beautiful. Staying at Katherine this evening as it is late afternoon when I finished visiting the gorge and I do not like to drive at dust as there are things that bounce across the road in front of you.
