February 12,2012

Today we went out to see the beaches and areas around MacKay Mackay takes in a very large area about 100 sq Kilometers and is comprised of numerous small villages and towns.  the main industry is sugar and there are acres of sugar cane. There is also some cattle and dairy farms out the valley.
Seaforth Post Office/Store across from the Sunday Market.

Swimming enclosure to stop jelly fish and sharks - safe swim area for children , fill at high tide.

We went to a couple of the small towns and beaches. First to Seaforth and the Sunday market, selling fruit, vegetables plants, home cooking, had tea and went to the boat launch. Then off to the Cape  Hillsborough Park and a walk on the beach, the water was very warm and the sand was so hot you could not walk on it bare foot. Beautiful aqua marine blue water surrounded by greenery and birds singing in the trees, made you just want to stay there forever, but had to move on to Ball beach and another just as beautiful beach just down the track. Stopped for lunch at a old converted train station form Marion that has been moved to the bush and now serves as a tea house  Had a very great pizza - cooked in a outdoor stone oven, then home to get dinner.
